The New Look for 2023: Organic Modern
With the Christmas Season underway and the New Year very close on the horizon, many shops are going into their biggest sales of the year.
This is the time to consider the newest trends the market is seeing and to find pieces on sale which fit with the newest styling.
2023 is going to be a year filled with Organic Modern looks. Think luxe natural fibre textiles in a calming ‘desert’ inspired colour palette (or warm neutrals), with lots of nods to nature.
This holistic approach to homes will feature significantly more natural fibres paired with beautiful natural stone, real wood floors, plush wool rugs and soft carpets. Linen-look upholstery, potted plants and light filtering curtains are all part of the styling.
The focus this coming year will be on sustainability. Products which are responsibly sourced, using recycled or up-cycled elements will be very saught after. The look will be simple, clean, cozy, and will be an elevated approach to the very minimalist style and maxamilist styling we have seen over the last few years.
The roots of Organic Modern lie in naturally sourced materials, which tend to be a bit more costly but are an investment that can last a lifetime. Don’t feel you have to get rid of everything you own but sort through and work around those things that fit the bill.
Here is what to look for in the Winter Sales to achieve a throughly Organic Modern look…
• Wool, Jute, and other natural fibre rugs are a great way to begin incorporating this elegant style into your space.
• Flooring that is made of bamboo, linoleum or cork would be a fantastic way to give your home a facelift, and blend beautiful materials which you can be sure have less impact on the environment.
• Cotton, linen, and other materials for sofas, arm chairs, dining chairs give a great organic feel to any room.
• Wood furniture pieces made from mango wood, acacia, or oak, all are beautiful options which display the one of a kind beauty of natural materials.
• If you are having tiling done, opt for beautiful hand made tiles, you can even find handmade subway tiles for that classic look, but the handmade look elevates the tiled areas to the next level and adds a warmth to spaces where sleek factory made tiles might give a feeling of being too cold.
• Lighting which mimics nature and ornaments and wall hangings made from natural textiles, wood or stone, are all fantastic ways to incorporate small elements.
