What is a Raw Floor
Natural Floors are without a doubt the number one flooring trend this year. A sustainable, beautiful and life-lasting feature that will not only look gorgeous but will also add value to your home.
Natural floors can be made of the following products… hard floors; in wood, engineered wood, cork and bamboo… and carpeting; made from 100% wool or natural fibres such as jute, seagrass, linen and sisal. Coconut mat forms a tough, rough natural entrance matting which will remove dirt and debris from your footwear.
Linoleum could also be considered natural flooring because it is made from all natural materials such a linseed oil, pine resin, cork, wood powder, limestone and is backed with burlap which is made from the jute plant.
We are already getting calls from customers this year asking if we have natural flooring and the answer is, “Yes! We have them all!”
So why all the fuss about natural floors?
Well firstly, they look absolutely great and they provide a fabulously natural backdrop to your home with oodles of interesting on-trend textures and neutral colour schemes.
Secondly natural floors promote your good health and well-being by providing a more allergen-free environment.
Thirdly natural floors are eco-friendly, if sustainably sourced of course (ask your sales consultant about that). They are also fully recyclable, if ever you choose to remove them.
Natural floors in general are warmer and quieter than synthetic flooring and they are naturally antistatic too.
Wood flooring remains the quintessential natural floor and it does not harbour dust mites, fleas or carpet-moths, each of which can cause allergies and even breathing problems, such as asthma.
