Cosy up with carpet this Autumn...
Now the Autumnal weather is upon us it is time to make our homes warmer and brighter. There is nothing more transforming than new cosy carpet or rug.Beautiful floorboards, ceramic and vinyl tiles have been very popular in the last few years but they will give nowhere near the comfort of a carpeted floor.
Autumn is the perfect time of year to rethink your flooring and add warmth up your rooms with carpets and rugs for the colder months. Carpets and rugs will also soundproof and insulate your home saving you money on heating bills in the long run.
Carpet colours this year are all about cosy glamour created with neutrals. All forms of beige, stone, tan, soft greys, charcoal and brown will look good and will mix and match to create a subtle backdrop for bolder furnishings.
Neutral shades create a classic vibe and a sense of moodiness without overpowering the room but some are opting for bold powerful colours such as scarlet, turquoise and emerald which add a lot of drama to your room.
This seasons trending striped carpets add structure to a space and can help to bring a variety of tones and shades into a scheme. Stripes can be whimsical or business like depending on the width. You can play with the direction to emphasise shape of your room, helping make an overly long room look wider and vice versa.
Texture is big this year too and there is a large variety of carpets out there with textural designs woven into them, subtly adding interest to your floor. Natural fibre carpeting just explodes with personality and texture and is very in vogue right now because of its sustainable properties and low emissions.
