Safe system of work

In order to continue to bring you the safest and best quality service, we’ve introduced some temporary ‘Safe Working’ measures over and above our normal conditions of sale. These follow and supersede government working guidelines, and are aimed at protecting you, our valued customers, plus our delivery and flooring installation staff. 

We’d like you to be assured that our staff are briefed daily on the most up to date working practices during the Covid19 pandemic.

Please read the following to familiarise yourself with these new guidelines.

No work will be undertaken if –

  1. The customer does not agree to and abide by this contract addendum.
  2. The customer is self isolating or is being shielded.
  3. The customer is showing any symptoms of Coronavirus, irrespective of Social Distancing measures put in place.

Nor can we undertake works if the customer is ‘shielding’. The government state shielding applies to people with –

  1. Solid organ transplant recipients.
  2. People with specific cancers:
    • people with cancer who are undergoing active chemotherapy
    • people with lung cancer who are undergoing radical radiotherapy
    • people with cancers of the blood or bone marrow such as leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma who are at any stage of treatment
    • people having immunotherapy or other continuing antibody treatments for cancer
    • people having other targeted cancer treatments which can affect the immune system, such as protein kinase inhibitors or PARP inhibitors
    • people who have had bone marrow or stem cell transplants in the last 6 months, or who are still taking immunosuppression drugs
  3. People with severe respiratory conditions including all cystic fibrosis, severe asthma and severe chronic obstructive pulmonary (COPD).
  4. People with rare diseases and inborn errors of metabolism that significantly increase the risk of infections (such as Severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), homozygous sickle cell).
  5. People on immunosuppression therapies sufficient to significantly increase risk of infection.
  6. Women who are pregnant with significant heart disease, congenital or acquired.

The Customer agrees to –

-Open any windows in the area to be worked in at least half an hour before the workforce arrives.

-Keep the windows open and the area ventilated during the entire fitting process.

-Vacate the area before the workforce arrives and not enter the workspace until invited to do so by the workforce.

-Never enter the workspace while the workforce is on site.

-Observe Social-Distancing of at least two metres at all times.

-Pay workforce via BACS or immediate Bank Transfer, not by cash or cheque.

The Workforce (Delivery drivers) agree to –

-Provide a valid personal temperature-check to the customer upon arrival if required.

-Wear gloves and a mask upon first entering the premises.

-Sanitise all touch points encountered (handles, doors, light switches, bannisters, railings, plug sockets etc) immediately upon entering the premises and workspace.

-Keep mask and gloves on should the customer request it.

-Never enter any space other than the workspace while on site.

-Observe Social-Distancing of at least two metres at all times.

-Take all materials and waste with them upon departure.

-Sanitise again all touch points encountered (handles, doors, light switches, bannisters, railings, plug sockets etc) upon leaving the premises and workspace at the end of the job.

The Workforce (Fitters) agrees to –

-Provide a valid personal temperature-check to the customer upon arrival if required.

-Wear gloves and a mask upon first entering the premises. -Sanitise all touch points encountered (handles, doors, light switches, bannisters, railings, plug sockets etc) immediately upon entering the premises and workspace.

-Keep mask and gloves on should the customer request it.

-Never enter any space other than the workspace while on site.

-Observe Social-Distancing of at least two metres at all times.

-Take all materials and waste with them upon departure.

-Sanitise again all touch points encountered (handles, doors, light switches, bannisters, railings, plug sockets etc) upon leaving the premises and workspace at the end of the job.

Finally, we promise no Peter Green team member or subcontractor will attempt to come to your property and potentially put anyone at risk if they or any other member of their household has any symptoms or is isolating, so may we ask that you kindly reciprocate and inform us if there are any persons in your family or household group who are isolating or showing symptoms, prior to our arrival at your property.

For one to one store appointments:

The Customer agrees to –

-Clean hands on entry to the store using sanitiser and paper towels as provided.

-Wear a face covering and keep to social distancing guidelines as set out by the Government. (We can provide masks and gloves for a small charitable donation)

-Follow any safe route around the store set out or advised by Peter Green staff.

-Be alert to potential hazards

-Keep family members visiting to a minimum and if you have to bring children, please ensure they stay with the main family unit and abide by social distancing and hand cleaning guidelines set out above.

-Be temperature tested at any time by a Peter Green staff member (non-contact)

In addition to our strict daily cleaning regime, Peter Green team members agree to –

-Provide hand sanitiser, paper towels and a bin at each entry point.

-Wipe down all surfaces touched or likely to be touched prior to your arrival & on your departure.

-Wear face protection at all times (mask or face-shield) when customers are in store.

-Wear gloves if requested by the customer.

-Observe social distancing guidelines and be alert to any potential hazards, advising you accordingly.

Finally, we promise no Peter Green team member will intentionally put anyone at risk if they or any other member of their household has any symptoms or is isolating, so may we ask that you kindly reciprocate and inform us if there are any persons in your family or household group who are isolating or showing symptoms, prior to your entry to our store.
