A message from owner, Wendy Martin-Green.


Dear Peter Green Customers,


As we all continue to face the coronavirus outbreak together we would like our valuable customers, suppliers and all stakeholders to know that our number one priority remains the safety of your family, our family at Peter Green and the wider community.


Over the past several months, we’ve promptly responded to government instructions and recommendations about health and safety. We’ve implemented industry-leading procedures allowing us to safely deliver your furniture orders, safely fit flooring orders and to welcome you safely to our store. Our ‘be a local hero and shop safe’ philosophy follows both the government’s guidance for Retailers and British Retail Consortium recommendations, plus all staff are coronavirus-prevention certificated and are regularly tested for symptoms.


We’ve launched several ‘safe system of work’ initiatives including 2 metre social distancing, limiting store numbers to give everyone plenty of space to browse, all customer-facing employees wear face-protection and have access to other PPE and we take the temperature of all employees every day. We’ve also introduced more rigorous in-store cleaning routines and added hand sanitising stations at all entrances.

We now also offer one to one personal appointments in store with a dedicated consultant, which means you can still browse your favourite flooring ranges, try out sofas, dining sets and beds all with the personal attention of your own professional furniture or flooring specialist.


Alternatively, we can book a home flooring consultant to come and present samples to you safely in your home, advising on all your flooring needs and conducting a free measuring and estimating service while at your premises.


Like all other retailers we are asking customers, staff and subcontractors to stay at least 2 metres from each other and to avoid physical contact. You will be greeted at the door and be asked to clean your hands with hand sanitiser provided. We can provide disposable gloves and face masks for a small fee. For everyone’s safety, if you appear to have any symptoms of coronavirus, we will ask you to please come back and visit us at a future time when you are feeling well.


Once inside Peter Green we have signage throughout the store reminding everyone to practise safe shopping and hand santiser will be readily available as you browse our merchandise. Please be patient if we need to limit numbers in store to ensure our 2 metre social distancing rules are met. Our in-store coffee shop is not currently operating but if you would like a cup of tea or coffee please just ask and we’ll be happy to make it for you.


For hygiene reasons, our preferred choice of payment is by debit or credit card and all card machines and touch points are sanitised by our team after each customer has used them.


Please also know that we’re limiting our washroom amenities to one user at a time and that these facilities are being fastidiously and regularly cleaned and sanitised.
