All Aboard for Summer: Start Planning Your Outdoor Space!

21st March 2022

Spring is here, and right now is a great time to start planning your outdoor space all ready for a summer filled with entertaining and relaxing in the sun. There is a lot to do during these weeks when the garden is waking up, so it is best to have a plan to take advantage of the good weather when it arrives. This is the time to clean and wash your paths and patios, feed the lawn ready for the new growth ahead, prepare your soil for new plantings, and prune dead branches from trees and shrubs. You may also need to do a little repair work to your walls and fences after the massive storms we have experienced this winter. You could also take this opportunity to touch up any flaking exterior paint work, and don’t forget to wash your windows so you can let all that lovely sunshine in!

Once you have completed this list it is time to bring out the garden furniture. After sitting in the shed or garage for the winter months it will need a good wash with warm, soapy water to remove dust and grime. Gently persuade any late hibernators such as ladybirds or spiders that it is time to wake up and move on.

Garden furniture is an important part of outdoor living as it enables us to  take our indoor activities outside and really enjoy the fresh air and sunshine while it is here. Create an oasis where you can spend time with your family and guests no matter the size of the space. For small balconies and gardens, bistro sets are perfect for having a cup of tea, a glass of wine and enjoying those early morning and evening rays. For lager gardens, outdoor dining sets, sofas and sectionals are ideal for enjoying the company of family snd friends.

At Peter Green we want to help you make the most of your garden during the spring and summer so we have put together a list of things you might need to breathe new life into your outdoor space for the upcoming season of sunshine:

  • A dining set
  • Soft seating
  • Cushions
  • Coffee table
  • Loungers
  • Outdoor bar
  • Strings of lights
  • Tea lights and candles
  • Citronella candles
  • Melamine dinner set
  • Throws
  • Barbecue and charcoal
  • Fire-pit
  • Outdoor cooking utensils
  • Sunsceen

Oh, and don’t forget to create a little shade with some umbrellas or pop gazebo.

Many of these items would make great Mother’s Day or Father’s Day gifts that would be well appreciated throughout the summer months ahead!
